CHEF KEI
ABOUT THE CHEF
Born in 1981, Kei began his apprenticeship in Japanese cuisine at the age of 16 under the tutelage of master chef Gomiizawa. He honed his skills at renowned restaurants such as Sawa Sushi Yanonishiki, Aisen Wakatsuki, and Koka Tsuki Kappou. At the age of 32, Kei struck out on his own, taking up the mantle of head chef at two upscale sushi restaurants, Hatsu Sushi and Ori Sushi. His cooking style is understated and refined, and he has garnered a devoted following among discerning foodies. In 2023, Kei joined the team at Afen Project, where he serves as executive chef, bringing his flair for inventive, unexpected cuisine to the restaurant's diners.
